Using Trading Strategies

In this post, I want to share how really, really easy it is to trade these days. I remember in early 2000 when we have to rely on professional analyst plotting on long paper charts in preparation for market opening. These days, information is available in real time at your finger tips.

In Trading view, not only can you do advanced plots and charts for your own analysis, leverage trading ideas from reputable analyst, you can also leverage indicators and trading strategies that are either built-in or written by other traders.

I'm using OCC Strategy by JustUncleL on XAUUSD 4hr chart with an accuracy of 83%. I buy and sell whenever it tells me to and win 3/4 of the time. There are many other strategies for you to choose one that work for the stock/ currency/ precious metal trades and time frame.

It doesn't tell you where to put your stops nor does it always trigger a trade at the most optimum price but if you choose the right strategy, you'll be winning with the less risk and effort required.

Be kind to one another

I have been reading up on forum these days and am sadden by how immature some people can be. There are many new players in the market these days. Some trading to take advantage of the COVID market crash, others trading etched out a living after losing their job. Instead of helping each other, many choose to berate, jeer and give out bad advice for their own satisfaction and goals.

We should know that contrary to believes, we do not trade against each other (at least 95% of the time). This is because majority of retail traders do not sell call or puts; we buy them from institutions. Therefore, we are trading against big players and your loss is not my win.

I'm back (but only for a short while)

Wow! My last post was almost 3 years ago. In June of 2017, I lost my right to call myself a jobless investor when I took on a new role. Where have I've been? Traveling for work. In 2019 alone, I travelled 261km, flown 383 hrs and made 84 trips.

It's been a busy 3 years and COVID-19 lock down finally gave me a chance to look at investing again.

3 years on and it is easier more than ever to invest with trading platforms like IG.com and Interactive Brokers that are packed with tools and features.

I started reading up when Singapore's lock-down (aka CB period) and picked the following tickers for my investments



The results? I've still got it 😉 I also happen to stumble upon the once in a life time opportunity with the COVID stock market crash.

Philippians 4:11-13

[11] I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. [12] I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. [13] I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

When I first started trading, I made many mistakes. It felt terrible and I struggled when I loss. I thank God for carrying me through during those tough times; and thought I share the follow verses that came to me recently. While all of us would have known verse 13 since young, I never really understood the meaning; reading the entire passage from verse 11 to 13 puts a whole new meaning to it.

Taking a break

French election over the weekend and brokers are lowering their leverage to protect themselves from another EURCHF-crash. I've kept my positions to the minimum and will take the next two days off.

Thank God that last night was a good night with April's US data exceeding expectation and a positive FOMC message. Looks like the dollar is about to set a new trend. New account is growing up nicely and catching up with its brothers.
